The Perspectives of Parents Toward the Practices of Pre-School Ethos During Routine Activities in Perpaduan (Unity) Pre-School Settings

The objective of this study to investigate the views parents toward practice pre-school ethos on routines activities in PERPADUAN (Unity) Pre-school settings. involved 30 from three A qualitative methodology was applied. In-depth interviews were conducted with parents. primary findings case emergent: data and quotes shown an important view a that claims be multi-ethnic. There are similarities differences between line parental norms values parents’ perspectives. For example, daily practices acceptable. common routine day consist arrival time, morning assembly, hand-kissing, salaam, Rukun Negara (Malaysia Principle) Negaraku Anthem), outdoor activity, table manners during meal time. However, despite good multi-ethnic through like “dua” kissing hands, some evidently suggest there lively ‘sensitive issues’. Most issues commented by related school’s reluctance act culturally sensitive way. Reciting is highly encouraged Islam, regardless time place, but ritual ‘over emphasised’ regarded as ‘compulsory’, so everybody must follow it their religion, even though recited Malay. Some might think Islamisation worry them.
